Thank you so much to Autumn Riggle and Bill Jagenow of Brothers Custom Automotive for sharing our “Craft of Speed” MOONEYES Documentary trailer at the upcoming Detroit Autorama! As a special guest of Brothers Custom Automotive, Chico Kodama of MOONEYES will be attending the event, known as “America’s Greatest Hot Rod Show.” It will be wonderful to introduce the incredible story of MOONEYES to the Detroit automotive community.
We had the pleasure of meeting Autumn and Bill at the recent Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show. As huge MOONEYES fans, they try to attend the popular show every year, traveling all the way from Troy, Michigan, where their shop is based.
We were able to enjoy their company again at our screening at Analog&Grit in San Diego. As part of our cinema event, we celebrated the legendary Bean Bandits, who are based in San Diego. Bill is a member of the respected racing team so they came to support our event.
Because we’re independently distributing our film, we deeply appreciate the support of devoted MOONEYES fans like Autumn and Bill in helping to get the word out about it.

THE BEAN BANDITS. PHOTOGRAPHED BY ZAP TESHIMA.
At our “Craft of Speed” MOONEYES Documentary screening at Analog&Grit, we had the honor of celebrating the legendary Bean Bandits in their hometown of San Diego and exhibiting photographer Zap Teshima’s beautiful photographs of them. A Bean Bandit himself, Zap has been passionately documenting them for a long time. His intimate images reveal his close relationship with them and his deep love for car culture. ANALOG&GRIT: A HUB FOR THE CAR COMMUNITY AND THE HOST OF “CRAFT OF SPEED”
The very first time we visited Analog&Grit, we were taken aback by its immense size—a cavernous warehouse. As a collector car storage club, it houses many coveted vehicles—vintage Porsches, BMWs, Mini Coopers, Datsuns, to name a few. It even has a Mercedes-Benz Unimog, which could survive an apocalypse. With its hip industrial vibe and passionate people, it’s no wonder that it’s become a hub for the car community.
We’re honored to be able to work with Analog&Grit in bringing our “Craft of Speed” MOONEYES Documentary to San Diego and creating a memorable cinema event. We’ll be screening our film on a unique Urban Entertainment Vehicle (UEV) by Control Entertainment. We’re thrilled to celebrate two legendary racing teams and longtime friends, MOONEYES and the Bean Bandits, and display their renowned race cars.
We’re excited to showcase talented photographer Zap Teshima’s powerful photos of the Bean Bandits. Before the film, we’ll be in conversation with the Bean Bandits and respected builder Willie Masayoshi Dorsey. We’re also very moved by the generous support of Vintage Motor Union in organizing a “Honor the Past” Rally of vintage vehicles from Los Angeles to San Diego to attend the screening.
We met Analog&Grit through the thoughtful introduction of Ian & Cindy Delos Santos. Our cinema event wouldn’t be possible without all of these good friends and community partners coming together. Our deepest appreciation to them.

“CRAFT OF SPEED” TO SCREEN AT ANALOG&GRIT ON THE URBAN ENTERTAINMENT VEHICLE
We try to make each of our “Craft of Speed” cinema events unique and memorable. Our “Craft of Speed” MOONEYES Documentary screening at Analog&Grit in San Diego on Sunday, 1/25/2026 will truly be special. Analog&Grit Collector Car Storage Club is a massive space in the heart of San Diego, which has become a popular car community hub.
Control Entertainment will be helping to turn it into a theater unlike any other with its Urban Entertainment Vehicle (UEV), a monster truck that has giant led screens attached to its sides. Think “Mad Max.”
This just sets the stage for two legendary racing teams and longtime friends—MOONEYES and the Bean Bandits—both whom recently celebrated their 75th anniversaries.
See the dynamic photography exhibit, “The Bean Bandits. Photographed by Zap Teshima.” Listen to a lively discussion with the Bean Bandits, respected builder Willie Masayoshi Dorsey, and filmmaker Ming Lai. And then watch a 2-hour feature documentary about MOONEYES.
Vintage Motor Union is even organizing a “Honor the Past” Rally of vintage vehicles from Los Angeles to San Diego to attend the screening. Thanks to all of our community partners, we’re deeply honored to share our film with the beautiful city of San Diego and celebrate an inspiring friendship.
